BMW recently took the wraps off their new X1, which is the second generation vehicle underpinned by the UKL architecture. The biggest change with the car is that some variants will get a FWD setup with a transverse engine layout. The crossover will only make its India debut sometime next year, so in the meanwhile, check out the pictures of the xDrive20d variant displayed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
BMW has carried over the traditional kidney-shaped grille in the front. However, it is slightly larger in size than the one on the previous model.
The protruding fascia looks menacing enough to add to the aggressive styling of the X1. The projector headlamps get full LED DRLs and the set of four add to the intimidating look.
The pattern for the alloy wheels is new and the BMW emblem can be seen at the centre. The 19-inch wheels are shod with Bridgestone tyres.
The wrap-around tail lamps extend across the three-quarter profile of the car. These LED tail lights are perfectly designed to blend into the sharp rear of the car.
The interior is somewhat similar to the previous model of the X1 as the overall layout is the same. Nevertheless, the dashboard and upholstery is updated and a revised iDrive system can be opted for with a 6.5-inch or 8.5-inch display.
The seats are adorned in black leather and are in line with the trim on the dashboard. These seats get a blue stitching to further accentuate the sporty look of the cabin.
