Clearer pictures of the 2015 BMW 7 Series (codename G11) emerge giving a better view of the flagship model. The test mule was heavily camouflaged but a closer look and some of the differences become evident.
Among the changes, the signature kidney grilles are now larger, the headlight design is sharper, and the shoulder line seems to get thinner past the rear doors. At the back, a chrome strip now connects the LED tail lamps and seems like the strips continue their imprint on the cluster. The twin exhaust pipes are fitted cleanly into the new rear bumper.
The new car is expected to be lighter by about 200kg over its predecessor and will also get new six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines along with a plug-in hybrid version.
There is no official word yet, but there are rumours that the new 7 Series will be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Expect the new 7 Series to hit our market within six months of its global launch, in which case an India launch is possible by late 2016. Also, we expect BMW to unveil the car at the 2016 Auto Expo.
