2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus launched in India for Rs 2.47 crore

Audi has launched their flagship sports coupe, the Audi R8, today at the Auto Expo 2016, for Rs 2.47 crore ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2016 Audi R8 is the second generations R8 and takes its performance a step further.

It gets a new aluminium – carbon fibre monocoque shell that keeps the weight in check and a 5.2-litre V10 petrol direct injection motor that screams 610hp of power. The all-wheel-drive Quattro is fed through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and catapults the two-seater coupe past 100kmph in just over three seconds.

The 2016 R8 gets new headlamps with the LED daytime running lamps wrapped around the gaping hexagonal mesh front grille. The front bumper gets air intakes with winglets to direct the airflow and a splitter underneath. The visual aggression continues at the back with a wing spoiler, a rear bumper splitter and aero winglets to regulate the air flow and generate enough downforce.

Inside, the R8 is finished in plush leather with all the bells and whistles that come with a luxury super car except for enough luggage space. The mid-engine super car has been on sale in India for quite some time and competes with the likes of the Maserati GT, the F-type R and the Ferrari California.
