The 2016 Auto Expo saw Audi Take the wraps off the 2016 R8 supercar and price it at a ‘reasonable’ Rs 2.47 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

It is the second generation for the German automaker’s supercar since it was launched in late 2007. It is being offered only with the 5.2-litre V10 engine and AT gearbox.

The outside is evolutionary and looks the same overall but with enough number of changes to set it aside from the previous model.

This engine, which has been mounted mid-rear, has been tuned to produce 610bhp. All power is sent to all four-wheels via a seven-speed DSG and Quattro AWD system.

This phenomenal power has resulted in a 0-100kmph time of just three seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

The two-seater cabin comes fully loaded with features like climate control, touchscreen infotainment system and many many speakers.

It competes with the Maserati GT, Jaguar F-Type R and the Ferrari California in the super luxurious supercar segment of the market. 

The car is available in a variety of shades and can be heavily customised to suit the tastes of the Individual buyers.
