Audi recently invited us to test drive the new A4 sedan in Bhubaneswar. The carmaker is yet to launch the vehicle for the Indian market, which is expected to happen by the end of this month. Updates on the launch date for the Audi A4 will be brought to your attention as they become available. Till then, check out these images of the upcoming car.
The Audi A4, now in its fifth-generation, is an entirely new model rather than just a facelift. The carmaker has also used a lot of light-weight materials in its construction apart from the revamp.
Audi wanted a more masculine and a sharp design for the car. And boy, the production version replicates this to the T.
The fascia sports a large hexagonal grille, which is in-line with Audi’s latest design language. The four rings sit at the top while the grille extends right into the front bumper.
Completing the aggressive look in the front are Audi's signature matrix LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. These have been intricately detailed and go well with the elegant front end.
Coming on to the sides, you will notice that the new 17-inch alloys get a new design pattern. They do look the part for the sedan.
Audi has also redesigned the interior to address the ageing cabin of the A4. What’s even more interesting, is that it comes equipped with loads of technological features.
The biggest highlight is the exceptionally designed virtual cockpit. It adds an MMI system with a touchpad, three zone climate control, mobile mirroring, wireless charging, DVD changer etc.
As for the 12.3-inch TFT display, it can be used in two user interfaces. It can be selected either for a navigation map or lists for phone, audio or radio functions.
With the increase in dimensions, Audi has successfully managed to bring more space in the cabin. Both the passengers in the front and back have plenty of room inside.
Then the occupants also won’t have to worry about the luggage they might carry. The 480litres of huge boot space provides oodles of space to accommodate a lot of stuff.
Then on the safety front, there is electronic parking brake, reversing camera with front and rear parking sensors, ABS, ESP and 8 airbags.
At the core of the new model lies a 1.4-litre petrol mill. This 1395cc motor produces 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque; and comes mated to a DQ200 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
