Volkswagen has taken the wraps off the 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco GTS, ahead of its debut at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, next week.
Though Volkswagen introduced the 2015 Scirocco more than a year ago, the German manufacturer had stopped short of unveiling the outgoing Scirocco GTS’ replacement, until now. As this model comes with the same 217 horsepower 2.0-litre engine from the current Golf GTI, the new Scirocco GTS is just an aesthetic mod-job. This four-pot turbocharged engine gets the option of either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed DSG, with the power going to the front wheels.
Aesthetic upgrades to the car include new 18-inch Norwich alloy wheels, red brake calipers and an R-Line body package. This package includes R-styled bumpers, side skirt extensions, roof spoiler and a rear diffuser. Inside, the car will be equipped with a sports steering wheel with a GTS logo, new Composition Colour infotainment system, stainless steel pedals, golf ball gear knob and chrome trim. Black Vienna leather upholstery, bi-xenon headlights and a panoramic tilt sunroof are all part of the optional feature list.
The 2015 Scirocco GTS will go on sale in the global market by the end of next month. Prices are expected to be revealed during the car’s launch at Shanghai.
