British SUV maker Land Rover in an official announcement listed out the updates for the MY 2015 Range Rover and the Sport. The new upgrades bring in a significant increase in the torque figure by 40Nm from the SDV8 diesel engine. Apart from this, buyers get a choice of new colours for the exterior and the interior along with new wheels.
The host of additions in both the SUVs include new puddle lights that “now project each vehicle's silhouette onto the ground at night to light the way for occupants,” a fixed panoramic roof with powered blinds. The Range Rover now gets a new design 19-inch Satin Dark Grey finish rims for standard wheelbase models. In a first of its kind feature the longer wheelbase models can be bought with sophisticated 22-inch alloys.
The addition in the torque figure now makes the overall tally of the 4.4-litre V8 diesel engine to a massive 740Nm. The eight-speed ZF 8HP70 gearbox has also been tweaked to handle the additional torque.
The Sport on the other hand gains a wider colour choice palette, additional in-car tech including Land Rover InControl, which will be available in the US, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The Sport can now be ordered with body coloured or contrast black roof and door sills.
The updated models will be available for order in the UK from today onwards. We can expect these models to be introduced in our market by the end of the year.
