The BMW X4, X5M and X6M have been showcased at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The X4 SUV was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and is already on sale in the US while the X5M and X6M were first shown to the American market at the LA Auto Show last year.
First off, the BMW X4; it is a compact SUV based on the X3 but takes the design of the X6. It gets an aggressive fascia with a big kidney grille, twin headlights and unique fog lamps. The car features a sloping roofline which looks similar to its larger sibling, the X6. The rear-end gets L-shaped LED tail lights and a fake rear diffuser.
Although it is based on the X3, the vehicle is longer and wider but shorter in comparison. The X5M and X6M are both sportier versions of the standard vehicles. They get an aggressive body kit, larger wheels and performance-oriented underpinnings.
The BMW X4 will be offered with three petrol and diesel engines producing outputs in the range of 180bhp to 308bhp for the top-spec six-cylinder 3.0-litre engine. The ZF eight-speed transmission is standard across all models.
The X5M and X6M are both being offered with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 567bhp and 750Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four-wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox and M specific xdrive system.
