The 2016 Audi Q7 was caught testing several times in India, ahead of its global unveiling in Detroit. We know that the premium SUV will be launched in India soon, so here are some images from the Audi pavilion at the NYIAS.
The new fascia constitutes a 3D-effect single frame grille, horizontal stats, the logo and the registration plate. The LED headlamps are standard fitment, while the matrix system will be available as part of the options list. The interior design is new and more sophisticated as compared to the current model. It gets the updated Audi MMI infotainment system with bigger screen and the Bang & Olufsen sound system. Based on the modified MQB platform, the new car has liberated lot more space for the second and the third row, making it a more viable option.
The new Q7 has also been put on a diet, reducing 325 kilograms as compared to the predecessor. This will not only improve the performance, but has also increased the efficiency by up to 27 per cent. The 3.0-litre TDI diesel will be the most sought-after model in the Indian market, while the V8 petrol will also be part of the lineup for those looking for higher performance.
The new 2016 Q7 will be launched in India by mid-2015 to take on the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and the BMW X5.
