Last year Mercedes-Benz launched the massive G63 AMG 6x6 which, as the name suggests, is a six-wheeled version of its iconic G63 AMG SUV. It was originally meant to have a single year of a limited 20-30 unit production run but thanks to high demand will be produced for the 2015 MY (model year) also. It has been priced at 4, 56,900 Euros (Rs 3.8 crore) which is 5900 Euros (Rs 4.9 lakh) more than the outgoing model.
The additional 5900 Euros will now get you an expanded feature list which includes a heated windscreen, heated OVRMs and an auto dimming rear view mirror. This is already in addition to the extensive feature list that the G63 AMG gets as standard with the car.
It is powered by a mammoth 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 543bhp and 785Nm of torque with power going to all six wheels via the 7G tronic automatic gearbox. As the name and price suggest, this is a vehicle for those whose bank balance is as big as the output of the 5.5-litre V8 that powers the G63 6x6. So that means seeing it in India will be almost impossible and we can only hope that since the German automaker is on a spree to launch all its AMG cars India, the 6x6 will join the list. Its bling factor and massive presence should make it a decent success if brought here.
