It’s the understated one but one of the most successful cars in the Mercedes-Benz range, yes, we are talking about the C-Class Sedan whose latest avatar has now been revealed courtesy a Spanish website. It is expected to be unveiled later this year and will reach India by the end of 2014.
At first glance the new C-Class now seems to be a smaller version of the 2014 S-Class as it embodies the same design philosophy and features as the larger car. It gets the same bumpers, headlights and grille design. The side profile looks similar to that of the GLA Class which in itself is a smaller version of the S-Class. Some of the copied characteristics include the low roofline at the back and the creases along the door.
The interior design of the C-Class has officially been revealed by the German automaker and follows much of the German automaker’s design philosophy for the MFA vehicles. We expect the new car to be replete with many of the three pointed star’s new technologies and in keeping with the times, its fuel saving systems.
The engine line-up is expected to stay the same as before; a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines all mated to seven-speed automatic gearboxes. The range is now also expected to get a hybrid like its larger siblings.
The picture set also includes an AMG spec car which we believe is the new C63 AMG. Much like its larger siblings it will also get a 5.5-litre biturbo V8 that is expected to produce 600bhp and around 650Nm of torque.
