Ford may have powered into the 2015 Geneva Motor Show with the 2015 Focus RS hot hatch, but it’s the radical new GT that is grabbing the attention of many supercar enthusiasts at the show. Besides these two, Ford is also showcasing the Fiesta ST and the new Mustang in the Swiss city.
Sitting at the top of Ford’s performance line-up, the all-new GT uses a carbon fibre body and an efficient twin-turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine to deliver one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car.
The supercar gets the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever – developing more than 600 horsepower, the V6 is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Unlike the previous Ford GT which had very little electronics, this new version is highly advanced and features a carbon fibre passenger cell and body panels, aluminium front and rear subframes, active torsion bar and pushrod suspension. Furthermore, the new GT also comes with carbon-ceramic brake discs and adjustable ride height.
When the production-spec version hits the showrooms in the next couple of years, the new GT will be among the most highly advanced and exclusive Ford vehicles ever.
