Ford showcased the updated 2015 Focus at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The American car major has used the distinctive Aston Martin-esque grille and extended headlights to give the car a unique look.
The Focus also gets changes to the interiors with the facelifted car getting a redesigned steering wheel and center stack with lesser controls and switches. The car gets a new SYNC 2 in-car connectivity system with a high-resolution eight-inch touch screen and a cleaner interface. Among the other changes, it gets adjustable center storage console, a black satin trim and chrome inserts on the dashboard and door trims.
The Ford Focus in Europe will be available with an all-new 1.5-litreEcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine, in two states of tune, 148bhp and 178bhp. The Blue Oval will also offer the 1.5-litre TDCi oil burner, in two different tunes, 94bhp and 118bhp. Also a larger 2.0-litre TDCi producing 148bhp will be available, which the company claims is 14 per cent economical than before.
The Focus is the Blue Oval’s bread and butter product, one of the best-selling cars in the world and a major grosser for them. Ford did contemplate bringing the Focus to India, but the pricing would have been a problem, as a result it never made it here. This is one car we would have loved to see here, but it will never make it to India.
