With the upcoming Figo Aspire creating quite a buzz, Ford seems to have started the promotion of the upcoming Figo hatchback. Parked alongside the Figo Aspire compact sedans, two Figo hatchbacks were recently photographed at a dealership in Rajasthan, giving us an early glimpse of the car ahead of its launch in the country.
The new Figo, like its compact sedan sibling, follows Ford’s new design philosophy. The front of the hatchback gets an Aston Martin-esque front grille and sleek headlamps, while the rear features wrap-around tail lamps and a short bootlid spoiler. The Figo shares a lot of body components with the Figo Aspire, which should help cut down on the production costs of the cars. Powering the hatchback would be the same four-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
The new Figo is expected to go on sale in India before the end of this year, against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Brio, Tata Bolt and the Chevrolet Sail. This will be followed by the next-generation Endeavour.
