After making its way onto the internet in the form of teasers, Infiniti’s Q60 sports coupe concept has made its public debut at the ongoing 2015 Detroit Motor Show. The concept model will pave way for Infiniti’s new sports coupe that will go into production in 2016.
While the overall design looks fairly fresh, look closely and there are traces of the Q80 in its finer details. The latter was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The low roofline and quilted leather seats remind one of the full-size Q80, while the aerodynamic gills behind the front wheel arches are inherited from the Q50 Eau Rouge sports saloon concept.
The Q60 uses a 3-litre V6 engine with direct injection and twin-turbocharging. This new unit is part of a new family of lighter, more efficient, and more powerful engines from Lexus.
With its turbocharged V6 engine and a sweeping, angular exterior that hints its performance intentions; the Q60 coupe in concept form hints at what will be a future BMW 4-Series rival.
