Chevrolet Philippines has launched the updated Chevrolet Trailblazer in the range of 1.298 million PHP to 1.788 million PHP (Rs 18.12 lakh to Rs 24.96 lakh). This 2015 iteration of the SUV will be available with two diesel engine options and sold through the Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), which is the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet automobiles and parts in the Philippines region.
The Trailblazer SUV is already on sale in Thailand and this new model gets some cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. The company engineers have worked on improving the NVH levels of the SUV. In terms of cosmetic makeover, the SUV in Philippines gets new front and rear bumpers, features LED projector headlamps, integrated LED DRLs and new fog lamps. The minor changes to the cabin include a piano-black finish for the center console and Chevrolet’s new MyLink infotainment system can also be seen in the top-end 4×4 LTZ SE AT trim.
For the Filipino market, the 2015 Trailblazer is available in two diesel engine options. One variant is powered by a 2.5-litre engine which produces 163bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. Another model comes powered by a 2.8-litre mill that churns out 200bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. For the Indian market, we can expect the Trailblazer to be initially launched with the 2.8-litre powerplant only.
General Motors confirmed that they will launch the Trailblazer in India this year. We expect this same 2015 iteration to be launched in our country; however, the company has still not confirmed if the SUV will go on sale as a CKD or CBU unit.
