Chevrolet has signed an agreement with Nissan to sell rebadged version of the NV200 (Evalia) in the United States and Canada. The mini-Van with bow-tie will be built at the Nissan facility and retailed through GM’s dealer network starting 2014.
The City Express looks identical to the Nissan NV200, apart from revised front with standard GM split grille and bowtie logo. The van will have cargo carrying capacity of close to 3,475 litres and option of fold-down front passenger seat. The GM version will be powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit developing 131PS and 188Nm of torque.
"Our fleet customers have asked us for an entry in the commercial small van segment, so this addition to the Chevrolet portfolio will strengthen our position with fleets and our commercial customers," stated Ed Peper, U.S. vice president of GM Fleet and Commercial Sales.
Nissan has a similar agreement with Ashok Leyland in India and the rebadged Stile will be launched here on July 16.
