Chevrolet Aveo's spy images have leaked on the internet. The spy images suggest the vehicle has a striking resemblance to the upcoming 2015 Cruze. Although, the images surfaced recently, the car won’t be uncovered at the Beijing Auto Show slated to begin tomorrow (April 20-29) .
The updated car gets a split-grille much like the upcoming 2015 Cruze, the front bumper now looks much contemporary in comparison to the rather bland one on its predecessor. The fog lamp housing is much smaller and is placed a tad lower too. The rear end gets a wider number plate area, new tail lamps and a more prominent integrated boot spoiler.
It is rumoured the new Aveo might go on sale later this year after its unveiled at the Chengdu Auto Show in September. The Aveo in China gets a choice of 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines and is priced from 81.800 yuan (Rs 7.92 lakh) to 114.800 yuan (Rs 11.1 lakh).
The Chevy Sail sedan was launched in India last year, sadly it failed to make a big dent in the entry-level sedan segment. Also, not helping it was the fact that it is a four-metre plus sedan which makes it difficult for GM to price it effectively (according to Indian norms any vehicle under four-metre is eligible for an excise concession). As a result, this model may not make it to India, what we may rather get is a re-engineered under four-metre sedan that may replace the Sail sedan in India in a couple of years.
