The upcoming SUV from Audi, the Q7, was spotted testing with cladding hiding all the details of the changes being done. This prototype of the vehicle is slightly different from the one previously spotted.
This pre-production model though heavily camouflaged, this time sheds some of the cover off the bumper. The rest of the car still remains under disguise. The undisguised bumper makes us believe that the front intakes have been kept uncovered to let the air flow to the engine smoothly. We can assume a powerful version of the SUV is being tested here.
The Audi Q7 seen in these pictures boasts of the alloy wheels which are larger than the ones seen on the model spotted before. A similar set were adorned by another prototype which was spied recently.
The new Audi Q7 is speculated to be powered by the engines seen on the Audi A8, that is, the 3.0-litre TFSI V6 engine which is for the base model. The other powerful engine offered might be the 4.0-litre TFSI V8 engine. These might replace the current 4.2-litre FSI engine on the outgoing model. The diesel variants for the vehicle might start with the 3.0-litre TDI engine.
The new Q7 will compete with the Range Rover, Mercedes Benz GL-class along and the the VW Touareg when introduced sometime in 2015. It is said that the 2015 Audi Q7 is being delayed due to change in designs. However the changes are expected to fulfill the prospective buyer’s tastes. We will keep you updated about the cars details as and when we get to know about them.
