While we have a glimpse of what the Jaguar entry-level sedan will look like and we already know about the BMW 3 Series it pretty much leaves us with the new Audi A4. Car and Driver has released an artist’s rendering of the 2015 Audi A4, which they say is an informed sketch. This upcoming model of the A4 is expected to be the bread and butter for the automaker.
Regarding styling cues, it is said that that the new Audi A4 may be edgier and more angular. It is expected to be among the first vehicles to make use of the second-generation, Audi-developed MLB (Modular Longitudinal) architecture. This platform will underpin a large number of vehicles, including future generations of the Audi A6, the A8, the A5 and the Volkswagen Phaeton.
On what will go under the hood, we think it will consist of 1.4-, 1.8-, and 2.0-litre four-cylinders; a 3.0-litre supercharged V-6 in the S4; four- and six-cylinder diesels; and very likely another V-8 in the next RS4. A six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic will complete the transmission setup.
With the 2015 Audi A4, the company is looking to rival BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz 2015 C-Class among others. In India, Audi recently released a limited production of the Audi A4 called the Celebration Edition for Rs 25.99 lakh.
Audi may launch the 2015 Audi A4 mid-2014 and then begin with sales in the US, the following year. Since we get the current Audi A4 and it has being doing well for the company we can expect an India release late next year.
