Audi is planning to unveil the all-new A4 saloon in 2015. The revised car has been tested by the carmaker near their facility in Ingolstadt, Germany. The latest Audi A4 will be the fifth-generation car and is expected to be made available in three body styles like the sedan, a wagon and an all-road version. These variants would be similar to the current vehicle, however, the all-road trim is expected to be introduced sometime after the former two versions are introduced. The next-generation Audi RS5 coupe, A5 coupe and the Sportback models are expected to follow suit later in 2016.
The upcoming Audi A4 has been designed by Audi’s design head, Wolfgang Egger. According to sources in the company, the final styling elements of the new car will be evolutionary and will feature updated detailing. It will feature a 3D-effect single-frame grille, new-style trapezoidal LED headlamps, and bumpers boasting of larger creases. The car will also brag about a conspicuous shoulder line which will run along the length of the car. The revised A4 will have prominent creases all over and the architecture will be similar to the present car. The dimensions will also remain the same but with a better layout the volume of luggage space is expected to go up.
The 2015 Audi A4 is expected to be powered by numerous engine options which might include four- and six- cylinder petrol and diesel units. The entire range of the motor variants that will be offered will supposedly feature cylinder deactivation tech. Codenamed as B9, the latest A4 will use the group’s MLB platform and thus be the first conventional steel monocoque that Audi will be offering. With the incorporation of this architecture, which embodies aluminium panels it will help in bringing down the overall weight of the car. This is speculated to be as good as 100kg less than the present Audi A4.
The current Audi A4, which started running on the Indian soil in 2008, is being assembled in the German carmaker’s manufacturing facility in Aurangabad. The upcoming A4 might also be brought out in the same way. Audi seems to be bolstering their position in the Indian car market with the introduction of new cars for fans and enthusiasts in the country. Last year a ‘Celebration edition’ of the Audi A4 was launched and recently the Audi RS7 Sportback was brought in.
