The new fourth generation of the Honda City was unveiled last month and is due for a launch in January. It will then go on sale with deliveries expected to start from the second week of the launch itself. The vehicle was recently spied by photographers at I.C.E who claim the pictures have been taken at a dealership. For more detailed information you can check out our report of the first drive of the 2014 Honda City diesel.
This is just after we reported the sightings of the car with masked badges. It was not sure back then if the cars were prototypes or the production version of the City. These new pictures make us believe that the final shipment of the cars have reached the dealerships. Since only the ‘i-Dtec’ badge can be seen on the silver car, there also a doubt as to whether the petrol variants have also reached the showrooms.
What also can be judged from the picture of the rear view of the car is that this is a new variant. This ‘V’ model gets the display screen, touch screen controls for air conditioning, USB and iPod compatibility. It also gets audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, phone connectivity with the help of Bluetooth and cruise control as well. Generally manufacturers give fabric seats with dual tones, but Honda seems to have provided the fabric seats on this model in a single trim. It might be placed below the VX model as the former comes sans the leather covered steering and gear lever. Leather seats, rear AC vents and a sunroof seem to be amongst the additional features in the top-end model.
Honda City Diesel has been one of the most awaited cars of this year. It is the first Honda City car with a diesel engine from the Japanese manufacturer. Honda has been tight-lipped about the new Honda City by not revealing any details of the car before the unveiling.
Now that we at Carwale have got the hands on the car, you can watch the first impressions of the car through the video made by our friends at Powerdrift.
