Toyota has announced that it will unveil the 2014 Corolla sedan before the Los Angeles Auto Show that is scheduled to being on November 22. The Japanese automaker had previewed the 2014 Corolla through the Furia concept car that it had brought to the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The Furia features a blacked-out front grille connecting the LED headlamps; the front bumper is big, wide and angular with almost hexagonal form. The overall effect is very aggressive and unlike Toyota designs – the face of this concept has an almost evil smile. The fenders are bulging and along with 19-inch alloy-wheels make the car look a lot bigger. The wheelbase is also 4-inch more than the current Corolla. The rear gets all LED treatment with twin exhausts and a sporty diffuser.
The 2014 Corolla is expected to continue with the same set of mills as well as underpinnings as the current model. Given that most manufacturers use the same design language that is on the outside for the interiors, we expect that Toyota will revamp the inside completely.
The Corolla is popular in America and in many of the Middle Eastern countries, where for many years it has served as a taxi. However, with this new cars aggressive looks, the Corolla might become appealing to a wider range of buyers.
We expect that Toyota will bring the 2014 Corolla for the Indian market sometime in 2015. It had previously announced that it was concentrating only on developing the Etios series for the Indian market till 2015.
