Spy shots of the 2014 Toyota Corolla have surfaced on the internet. The Japanese automaker had previewed its new design language via the Corolla Furia concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto show and it seems that this car retained most of the cues it but in a much less aggressive manner.
In front, the grille has lost the carbon fibre touch and it has been replaced by more conventional body coloured panels. Toyota has also installed conventional fog lamps and given heavy dose chrome treatment to the grille. The blacked-out headlamps and light cluster (now featuring an LED insert) flow upwards into the sloping bonnet which has prominent creases on the sides.
All wheels have extremely flared arches and doors slope forward on the side. At the back Toyota has retained some of the aggressiveness due to the wrap around tail lamps. The rest of the rear looks like it has been designed based on the current Camary sedan and features a large number of bulging lines.
Apart from what we can see the pictures, not much else is known about the 2014 Corolla. The Japanese automaker during the unveiling of the Furia concept did not reveal any details about the engines, underpinnings or features. We expect that Toyota will retain most of the current engine line up as well features but with upgrades for improved efficiency.
It is likely that Toyota is aiming the new car at a much younger group of buyers and are likely to keep most of the design to ensure the car looks modern enough.
