The 2014 Suzuki Alto/ Maruti Suzuki A-Star has been spotted testing in India. It was earlier spotted testing in Europe in an RHD configuration and sporting JK Vectras. Now the same car has been spotted testing near the Indo-Japanese automaker’s plant at Gurgaon. Codenamed the YL7, the car is expected to be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo and will go on sale sometime next year.
We have already described in detail the design of this car as well as the interiors which was revealed (partially) from the same cars during their testing run in Europe. You can find the links for both stories below. This new car is expected to replace the current A-Star/ global Alto and the Ritz/ Splash and will be the first car to make use of the Japanese automakers 800cc diesel engine that is currently under development in japan.
The Alto/ A-Star has been the Japanese automaker’s strongest selling model since it was launched in the late 1970s and that means that this new model should have little difficulty in achieving the numbers that it aims to achieve.
