Mercedes-Benz has already confirmed that the all-new S-Class coming in 2014 won’t be just one car, but an entire model range. We were always expecting a four car line-up with coupe and cabriolet, but now Autocar UK has reported that new range will actually have five models.
Apart from the standard and extended wheelbase versions, Mercedes-Benz is expected to offer extra-long-wheelbase Limousine version that will also don the Pullman badge. The most important additions though will be the coupe and cabriolet versions. The coupe S-Class will have two-doors and will replace the current CL-Class to compete with the Bentley Continental GT. Similarly the convertible version will go against the Bentley Continental GTC, now that Merc has pulled the plug on Maybach.
The entire lineup of the new S-Class won’t be unveiled together. The S-Class and the extended wheelbase versions are expected to be unveiled this year, while the Pullman will should be available in early 2014. The launch of the cabriolet and coupe will be further way, somewhere in mid 2014.
