Mercedes has published a photograph of a fast-moving E-Class family on its Facebook page, and it contains the 2014 E63 AMG as well. Of course, there isn't any information about the new model.
We can see a heavily revised front end in the image, with a new bumper and wheels, and the bootlip spoiler gets a little extra oomph. The rest of the car retains the understated looks of the sedan, while the face has more in common with the E-Class coupe.
Car and Driver had revealed that the 2014 E63 AMG will use a twin-turbo V8 that churns out 550bhp and a stonking 720Nm of torque. There are rumours running about that it will have four-wheel drive, a first for an AMG sedan. A year or two ago we would have dismissed that thought, but BMW's M division has made turbocharged petrol and diesel engines and tuned the marque's SUVs, too, so anything is possible.
All we know for sure is that it's going to sound like thunder, and go like a scalded cat - and that's the way an AMG should be.
