The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG with 451bhp and AMG performance kit is a fast car, but the blokes at Merc have upped the power by 56bhp for this ‘Edition 507’, taking it to… well, 507bhp. This new 2014 model with a few changes will debut at the Geneva Motor show in March and go on sale later this year.
The 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated mill now gets lighter crankshaft, forged pistons and new connecting rods, reducing the engine's overall weight by a good 13kg.This is achieved by borrowing heavily from the SLS AMG and help in reaching the 100kph mark from standing still in little over 4.1 seconds. The top-speed has also improved to 280kph and Mercedes is offering complimentary entry to the AMG Driving Academy to help you get there.
The cosmetic changes include vented bonnet – similar to the one on the Black Series, new AMG-alloys with matte finish, sports stripe above the rocker panel and gloss lip spoiler, mirror housing and grille. There are three colour choices for the interiors, along with Alcantara leather steering wheel and plenty of AMG badges.
The new version will be available in coupe, sedan and estate form; prices will be disclosed closer to the launch date.
