2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG may have 630HP

Just two weeks ago Mercedes introduced us to the all-new brawny 2014 S63 AMG and even as excitement around the big boy settles down, there are rumours of even more powerful salon with the ‘S’ badge. The word is, Merc may showcase the S65 AMG at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show in November and open sales at the start of next year.

The S65 AMG is expected to get the mighty V12 – most probably the 6.0-litre engine churning out 630hp of peak power and mind numbing 1000Nm torques. The engine is likely to be mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed gearbox that will help the car do 0-100 in four seconds. It will be interesting to see if Mercedes offers the 4-Matic AWD transmission as standard on the S65, which is currently available with the E63 AMG in the US. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will feature the Magic Body Control (MBC) which uses a stereo camera to scan the road ahead and prepare the suspension for bumps and imperfections.

We are not sure about the S65 AMG; it might as well be a limited edition for the west of Atlantic. However, if the S65 AMG makes it to Merc’s global lineup, we are sure it will be offered in India as a CBU only on order.
