The official brochure of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been leaked onto the internet ahead of its May 15 debut in Germany. We have already seen the interiors and exteriors courtesy previous leaks and the brochure now reveals the engine line up that will be offered with the new S-Class.
The first in the line-up is the S350 BlueTEC variant that will use a 3.0-litre V6 diesel mill producing 258PS of power and 620Nm of torque. The petrol variant will be the S500 and will use a 4.7-litre V8 mill that churns out 455PS and 700Nm of torque. Next in line is the S400 Hybrid and uses a 3.5-litre hybrid mill that produces 306PS and 370Nm of torque. Power across all three mills will be transmitted using the German automaker 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox. The brochure also reveals a host of other details including dimensions, interiors trims, features as well the body colour options.
The Indian market is sure to get the new car by the end of the year but only in the long wheelbase variant as has been the case for quite a while now. It is likely that Mercedes-Benz will now split the S-Class into a range of vehicles comprising various body styles in a bid to streamline its range.
