Jaguar has unveiled the new the 2014 XFR-S sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Powered by the supercharged V8 from the XKR-S, this is the most powerful sedan from the Tata-owned luxury brand.
With the V8 developing 550bhp and 690Nm of torque, it will make to 100kph from standstill in around 4.4 seconds. Other changes include stiffer suspension, a strengthened torque convertor to take the additional beating, 20-inch wheels and an optional massive rear wing to generate additional downforce. There are also extra bits of carbonfibre to manage aerodynamics and for added sportiness.
The engine of the XFR-S is still mated to the eight-speed paddle-shift automatic gearbox from ZF with Start/Stop as standard. Inside, the car gets contrast-piped seats with leather and aluminium trim.
Jaguar will be offering only 100 units of this exclusive leaping cat in the USA for 99,000 dollars (Rs 54.97 lakh before taxes and duties) apiece. It will certainly be made available in Europe and other markets including India soon, only as a CBU.
