Just a few days ago, we had revealed to you what the 2014 Honda Jazz/Fit will look like courtesy of some leaked photos. Now, probably after realising that there is no point of waiting further, Honda has announced that it will launch the 2014 Jazz/Fit in September and is likely to unveil the car in the next month or so.
The 2014 Honda Jazz is expected to be wider as well as longer than the current model thanks to an increased length. The car is also expected to have a class-leading 400litre boot space and a slightly extended wheelbase of 2.58m.
In India the Jazz will most likely be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol mill and the new 1.5-litre diesel engine found under the hood of the Amaze sedan. The global variant known as the Fit in the US market will get an engine range consisting of 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol units besides the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. As a B+ segment car the Jazz will be placed as a direct rival to Hyundai’s i20 hatchback. It is likely that we in India will also get an automatic variant of the jazz.
Honda had previously announced that it will be bringing four new models to India by 2015 and this includes Brio based MPV, 2014 Jazz, a Jazz based SUV that is slated to be launched next year and the next generation City Sedan.
The 2014 Jazz will be launched first for the Japanese market and that means that we will get the car sometime in 2014.
