Ford brought the 2014 variant of the Ford Fiesta at the recently concluded Auto Expo. The company did not reveal any plans or dates for the launch of the new model in the Indian market. However, Ford’s website recently added the new facelifted Fiesta on their website.
The new model which boasts of cosmetic changes was spied testing in Chennai recently. The revamped vehicle will come in a new Copper Pulse colour. The fascia boasts of an Aston Martin-esque looking grille borrowing traits from the EcoSport. The vehicle will get a redesigned bumper, fog lamp housings and bonnet. Also at the rear, we can see angular tail lamps and a revised bumper. Instead of chrome accents on the centre console seen in the present Fiesta, the car will get these painted in black. The 2014 Fiesta will also get a redesigned steering wheel.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta is expected to be powered by the same set of engine options that the current Fiesta is available with. This means it gets a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The five-speed manual transmission will be carried over in all models. An automatic variant will be offered in the petrol spec.
With Ford updating their website with the details of the car, we can expect the carmaker to launch the car soon. We hope Ford launches the new Fiesta with an aggressive pricing making it compete with the Volkswagen Vento, Renault Scala, Fiat Linea and Nissan Sunny in our country.
