We had recently reported the possible arrival of the new facelift Linea in India and now the car has been spotted testing in the country further strengthening the rumour. The facelift has been available in the European markets and so we know what to expect in terms of styling and features.
The spy shots have revealed that the India bound facelift closely resemble the European spec model both inside and out. Though cladded, the front shot clearly displays the new grille and bumper design along with the unchanged headlamp cluster. On the inside, the air vents, the revised three-layered dashboard and the centre console also replicate the European version giving the car a more refined and premium appeal.
We already know that the current model will be sold under the Linea Classic tag and will share its power plant with the new model. There is also news of a next generation Linea around the same time which will be likely based on the 500 platform.
Fiat has plans to re-invent the brand in India and as part of this strategy; they have opened a wide network of dealerships and service centres around the country to alter the brand’s perception in India. The launch of the facelift can be considered as the next logical step in the progression which will conclude with the introduction of their new line up based on the 500 and Panda platforms.
