Isuzu Motors is one of the many new entrants who are showcasing their products at the Auto Expo 2014. The biennial motor show is one of the biggest in the subcontinent and any auto motor company worth its salt chooses to be seen here. This Japanese SUV maker has recently been in the news for the efforts is making to a gain a proper foothold in the country as India is expected to be the world’s biggest one ton pickup market in a few years.
At the twelfth edition of the Auto Show Isuzu displayed an extended version of the D-Max Space cab. The D-Max extended cab variant will be based on the single-cab version, though this is not to be confused with the double-cab variant: unlike the double-cab, the extended cab will not get an additional set of doors. It has 1.5 more feet of space than the regular cab.
The extended-cab D-Max will be run by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which produces 134.4bhp of power at 3,600rpm and 294Nm of torque from 1,800-3,200rpm in the D-Max single cab. The gearbox, like the single-cab D-Max, will be the same 5-speed manual unit. The cab is targeted at small business owners who drive their own truck as well.
