Preceding its official launch as part of this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi has released official design sketches of the 2014 A8 that gives us a glimpse of what to expect. Earlier, Audi had released an official teaser video as a preview for the Frankfurt Show that displayed two cars concealed in clothing; one of which was rumoured to be the above mentioned A8.
The evolutionary design will be based on the current A8, but will feature Audi’s revolutionary Matrix LED headlamps consisting of 25 diodes that claim to deliver the optimal amount of light regardless of road conditions. Also new is the new sequential turn indicator that uses 18 LEDs that light up in sequence that point to the direction of turn.
In terms of design, this facelift A8 will come with slightly tweaked front and rear bumpers along with a redesigned front grille and redesigned exhaust finishers. The update is kept to a minimum as the model is expected to be replaced by an all-new A8 in 2016.
The car was spotted testing in India well before its global unveiling, implying that we will be one of the first markets the car will see day light in. The new A8 will bring a refreshing change to the luxury sedan segment which is awaiting the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and a facelift for the BMW 7 Series.
