While we still wait for the launch of the all-new 2013 Skoda Octavia, the RS version is set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week. Now that we don’t have more questions related to the sedan, we can wait for more details of the station wagon – and as we wait for (may be) the Frankfurt debut, here are few uncamouflaged pictures of the new Octavia Combi RS.
The European spec Octavia RS Combi will be powered by the Golf MK7 GTI-sourced 2.0-liter TSI engine that produces 223PS power and the GTD-sourced 2.0-liter TDI that makes 187PS of power. Power will be transmitted via a six-speed manual gearbox, and a six-speed DSG optional to front wheels, with the option of four-wheel-drive in pipeline.
All the RS variants of the Octavia will get performance enhancing features like a lowered ride height, sports suspensions, ESP, electronic differential and an aggressive body kit. The RS models will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels with an option to upgrade to 19-inch wheels. In terms of interior aesthetics, the RS variants will get a new instrument panel, leather-covered sports steering wheel, stainless steel sill plates and pedals, sports seats, black trim and "RS" badging.
India did get the RS and the Combi variants of the Octavia but it is not likely that the 2014 Skoda Octavia RS Combi will see daylight in India. When the Combi variant of the Laura was unveiled the Indian market was not part of the company’s strategy and the same is expected with the 2013 Octavia RS Combi as well.
