Maserati has revealed the images of the new 2013 Quattroporte, which will take a bow at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The four-door sedan will continue to be powered by Ferrari engines, but the Italian car maker will divulge more details only at the auto show.
The previous major update for the Quattroporte was in 2004, so it isn’t surprising that the car now gets more creases and sharper (and even smaller) headlamps to make it look aggressive and contemporary. The tail looks like a mellow version of the new Ford Fusion – surprising for a car designed by Italians. The overall appearance now resembles the Gran Turismo.
Maserati quotes that the car will get “all-new next generation powertrain”. We are reasonably sure that it will develop 530bhp and be a Ferrari developed V8. What really interests us is whether they have decided to continue with a natural aspirated unit or move to turbocharging that can possibly power the Prancing Horses in future.
