Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off the 2013 Wagon R. The facelifted iteration of Indo-Japanese automaker’s tallboy was first shown to us via a TV commercial titled ‘festivals’. Maruti has now and revealed that it has tweaked various bits of the car both inside and outside.
The most obvious change is the front facia that now sports a revised design for the grille, front bumpers as well as fog lamp housing. The company has said that the changes have also been made to reduce the wind noise. The rear end and sides of the car looks much the same as the outgoing model and features no changes.
The interiors are now in a beige and black combination with the same being used on the upholstery in the LX and the Lxi variants and an all beige trim on the VXi variant. The music system has also been revised and now features new controls and USB compatibility. MSIL has also included a new storage compartment above the glovebox as well day/night option for rear-view mirror.
Under the hood, the Wagon R will still be powered by the same 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine which produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque and will be offered with dual fuel option of petrol, LPG, CNG. We expect that a diesel version maybe launched by the end of June. It has now also installed an OBD-II (On-board Diagnostics) system, to allow for easier diagnostics of the engine.
The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is likely to be launched within the next few days with a slight revision in prices.
Edit: The 2013 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has been launched for Rs 3.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
