The 2013 Wagon R has been launched for Rs 3.58 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The facelifted car was first seen during a TV commercial titled ‘festivals’. Subsequently the Indo-Japanese automaker unveiled the car and revealed that changes both cosmetic and mechanical had been made to the car.
The front of the car sports a new grille design, bumpers as well as revised fog lamp housing. Maruti says that these changes (apart from cosmetic) also were made to reduce wind noise. Other major are new beige and black interior trim on the plastics as well as the upholstery (top-end variant gets full beige upholstery). The music system has also been revised and there is a new storage compartment above the glove box.
All three variants of the Wagon R; LX, LXi, VXi in all three fuel types (petrol, CNG, LPG) will be powered by the same 1.0-litre K10 engine which produces 68bhp and 90Nm of torque. The company has now tweaked the engine to increase fuel-efficiency. Maruti has also installed an OBD-II (On-board Diagnostics) system, to allow for easier diagnostics of the engine.
