Volkswagen has unveiled a rugged version of city car Up!, called the CrossUp! The car is targeted at consumers who prefer driving their cars in rough and uneven conditions.
You can distinguish the CrossUp! from its sophisticated twin by looking at the black body cladding over the wheel arches and rocker panels. The bumper gets a light metallic silver finish which also covers the outer body of the ORVMs. The car sports roof rails, a new set of 16’’ wheels, fog lights, split rear seats, leather steering wheel and heated outside mirrors.
When it comes to engine, the car gets the 1.0-litre three cylinder petrol engine from the Up! which produces 74bhp of power and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car will be on go on sale in Europe in few weeks.
The Up! is expected to make India debut by the end of this year and we hope that this toughened version is a part of the India lineup at the time of debut.
