Mitsubishi has unveiled their latest electric concept at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show called the CA-MiEV. The MiEV stands for Mitsubishi innovative electric vehicle and the new version is expected to be the successor of the current i-MiEV.
The CA-MiEV is a 5-seater compact electric car with the range of 300km – Mitsubishi claims this is the weekly driving range of Europe’s urban population. With the extended range that is almost double of the previous i-MiEV, the CA-MiEV will compete with Toyota Prius when it goes to production.
The CA-MiEV electric car has a sleek design with futuristic look. This light weight EV car features high density batteries, full flat door, rear-view cameras, wireless charging system and regenerative braking. The motor produces 107bhp of power. The car also features remote controlled air conditioning where the owners can control the system with the help of a smartphone.
The CA-MiEV is a only a concept and will go through many changes before it goes to production. Hopefully, Mitsubishi will pay attention to the messy rear. The car is expected to be production ready by 2015, but unfortunately won’t be launched in India due to lack of demand for high-end EVs and some hostile customs policies.
