There are different types of sundaes, the normal vanilla sundae, the chocolate sundae, then triple chocolate sundae and the death by chocolate sundae. The one filled with soft chocolate brownie, dipped in rich chocolate sauce topped with crispy chunks of dark chocolate. This Legends Edition Bugatti is the death by chocolate sundae of cars.
A second from the super-exquisite series of tribute cars, sourced from the company’s illustrious history, this one pays homage to the legendry Jean Bugatti, the son of founder Ettore Bugatti, and more importantly the geek behind the stunning Type 57SC, from which this edition is inspired.
The Type 57C is arguably the best looking masterpiece to have rolled out from the facility in France and is currently owned by a handful of celebrities, including Ralph Lauren. This legends edition named La Voiture Noire, or The Black Car.
As the name suggest, the car is finished entirely in black carbon-fibre, running on a set of diamond-cut twin five-spoke alloy wheels. The inspiration continues on the interior with the use of two-tone, brown-on-beige cabin with silhouettes of the 57C stitched onto the door inserts and the centre cabin. Though all of it looks gorgeous, what blew us away are the vintage rosewood shifter and the grille surround and EB badges, both made of pure Platinum, yes you read it right!
Like the previous edition, the Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille that debuted at Pebble, the "Legend Jean Bugatti" will be limited to three examples, and will retail at over three million USD (Rs 19.28 crore). Considering the original Type 57C was recently auctioned at ten times this price, this looks like a bargain, for the three people who will buy this car.
