Bentley has unveiled the Continental GT V8S and its convertible sibling at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car features a much more aggressive design as well as some major upgrades for the engine making more powerful than the outgoing car.
The Continental GT V8S gets new front splitter, rear diffuser and special side sills. Its profile is further enhanced by the model specific 20-inch wheels and large red brake callipers. However, this being a Bentley, it retains the same overall design and familiar lines. The interiors too have got minor changes in the form a new trim for the cabin, chrome accents, special S branded sill plates and a centre stripe on the roof liner in the hard top version.
The party piece of the GT V8S is the upgraded twin turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine that has been tuned produce 530PS and 680Nm of torque. It has been mated to the ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox and a rear-biased four wheel drive system. The hard top version does 0-100kmph in just 4.3 seconds while the convertible takes 4.5-seconds and has a top-speed of 308kmph a km less than the hardtop.
The company has also modified the suspension, anti-roll bars, steering system as well as the electronic damping and ESC all in a bid to give this massive British land barge ‘sportier’ credentials. Both models will on sale from early 2014 at a still to be announced price.
