Audi has pulled a fast one with the unveiling of the Nanuk Quattro Concept during the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was expected to showcase the new A8 and the S8 along with the Quattro concept, but topped the list with a cherry in the form of the diesel powered Nanuk concept.
The car seemingly resembles the Giugiaro Parcour Concept revealed by design house Italdesign Giugiaro who also penned the Nanuk; explaining the reason behind this similitude. Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V10 TDI unit that produces 550PS power and a rather ‘mediocre’ 1000Nm of torque, aiding the 100kph drag in 3.8sec and a top speed of 306kph while returning 12.75km to the litre; appreciable figures for a car of these numbers.
It’s important to notice that despite the figures, the car is not an all-out sports car. It is dubbed as a crossover concept, showcasing Audi's next generation of adaptive air suspension is featured and height adjustment of 7cm while also featuring, Audi’s version of active steering; similar to the one found on Porsche’s new 911 GT3.
There isn’t any rumour of a possible production model, but it will be interesting to see if any of the cues, transpire to the Audi line-up in the future.
