Volkswagen has launched the new 2012 Tourage in India for Rs 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). VW displayed the new SUV at the 2012 Auto Expo, which is based on the all-new platform. Volkswagen India has started accepting the booking for the new Touareg and the deliveries are expected to begin by end of this month.
The new Touareg gets a mild facelift with new front fog lamps, panoramic sunroof, all-time LED running lamps and roof rails. It is powered by 3.0-litre diesel TDI V6 engine, developing 240bhp and 550Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that powers all four wheels.
On the inside, this SUV gets features like leather dash and upholstery, a quad zone automatic climate control system, multimedia stereo system with a 6 CD changer, Bluetooth compatibility, voice activated controls and cruise control. The safety features of the Tourage include ABS, ESP, Airbags, Electronic Differential Lock, ASR and Hill Hold Control assist.
The Volkswagen Tourage is the only SUV offering from Volkswagen in India and is based on PL71 platform that also underpins the Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7.
