After introducing the new Maserati Gran Cabrio MC, the Italian boutique car maker has revealed names of its two future models. As expected one of the new models will be a SUV based on the Kubang concept and it will be called, the Levante. Maserati also confirmed the rumours about the sub-Quattroporte sedan and has decided to name it ‘the Ghibli’, which was earlier used only for two-door models.
Along with the two new models, the company also revealed the plans about the next generation Quattroporte, which will be launched next year to celebrate the car’s golden anniversary. The rumours suggest that the new four-door sedan will debut at the Detroit motor show next year.
Maserati hopes to sell 50,000 units a year by 2015 – tough ask for a car maker of its size. But the upcoming premium SUV might just do the trick for Maserati; the way Cayenne changed numbers game for Porshce. Maserati offers its entire range in India, so post global launch check with the India dealer if you have pockets deeeep enough for one of these.
