Chevrolet has unveiled a facelifted version of the Spark at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which is sold in India as the Beat, albeit with a few changes to keep the cost of the vehicle down. This model has already been released in the US where it comes with a larger set of engines.
As we had reported earlier, Chevrolet has made changes to the front grille, revised the front bumper and the fog lamps that now feature a chrome molding. At back there are new taillights and a high-mounted stop light in the rear-spoiler to add novelty factor. The 2013 Spark also gets new 15 inch alloy wheels in Europe.
Inside, the American automaker has retained most of the features from the previous model but has re-designed the centre console and updated the trim. The European spec Spark will continue to be powered by the 1.0-litre 65bhp and a 1.2-litre 80bhp petrol engine. In India the Beat is also offered with a 1.0-litre diesel engine.
Given that the Spark is manufactured locally for certain European markets, it is safe to say that Chevrolet will introduce the facelifted model (as the 2013 Beat obviously) in India after its European launch. We expect the new facelift Beat to be rolled-out in India by the end of this year or early 2013.
