BMW revealed a new Active Tourer Concept at the Paris – one which breaks BMW tradition with front-wheel-drive architecture and will soon make way for cheaper BMW models. The Active Tourer is essentially a taller and marginally longer 1-Series hatchback, which might make it to production soon as the 1-Series Gran Turismo.
The front design of the Active Tourer concept draws heavily from the new generation 3-Series, while the back is unmistakably styled like BMW crossovers. It has a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged hybrid unit producing 190bhp and 200Nm torque. The concept can reach 100kph from standstill in less than eight seconds with the top-speed of around 200kph. The most interesting bit about the concept is that it has efficiency of 40kpl.
