Mark Webber garbed his second win of the season – courtesy Pirelli hard compound tyres and well managed strategy, while Fernando Alonso finished second with fading option tyres after leading for 47 laps out of 52, at the Silverstone circuit UK. Red Bull got double podium with the defending champion, Sebastian Vettel in third – extending their overall lead over Ferrari to 62 points.
Felipe Massa finished fourth in the second Ferrari, followed by the two Lotus cars of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean. Michael Schumacher finished seventh, unable to manage tyre wear; after starting the race from third position. Bruno Senna in Williams finished ninth, sandwiched between the McLaren drivers Lewis and Jenson Button.
Force India driver Hulkenberg also suffered from same issue as Alonso, as he lost three positions in the last lap to finish twelfth. Mercurial driver, Pastor Maldonado was once again involved in a racing incident – this time with Sergio Perez of Sauber, which ended both their contentions in lap 15. Narain Karthikeyan finished twenty first in HRT behind his teammate Pedro de la Rosa and rest of the pack.
